The University of Virginia is hiring a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee technical and operational staff in a lab. The role includes personnel oversight, maintaining standards of technical performance, and providing backup support for the Department Manager. Qualified candidates should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and relevant experience, accompanied by preferred certification. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50lbs and exposure to various laboratory conditions.
Evening (2nd) Shift
Under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager the Laboratory Supervisor provides first line supervision over the technical and operational staff in a defined laboratory area.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires sitting, standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer use. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, noise, radiation (in limited specific areas), blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
