Job description

Evening (2nd) Shift

Under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Supervisor provides first-line supervision over the technical and operational staff in a defined laboratory area.

1. Provides personnel and staffing oversight for a limited area of the lab.
2. Supervises staff technical and professional performance.
3. Maintains a positive and professional work environment.
4. Investigates, documents, and resolves problems and complaints.
5. Provides backup support for the Department Manager.
6. Performs laboratory test procedures.
7. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Position Compensation Range: $77,937.60 - $124,696.00 annually.

Minimum Requirements

Clinical Laboratory Scientist

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in accordance with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act & Amendments (CLIA).
• Experience: 3 years relevant experience.
• License/Certification: Medical Technologist or categorical, ASCP or equivalent.

OR

Histotechnologist/Histotechnician

• Education: Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree, or High School Equivalency with education credits meeting CLIA criteria for General Supervisor.
• Experience: 3 years relevant experience for Bachelor's or Associate's Degree, or 5 years relevant experience for High School diploma plus minimum CLIA education credits.
• License/Certification: HT, HTL, ASCP or equivalent preferred (such as a valid Histology Supervisor state license).

Physical Demands

This job requires sitting, standing for prolonged periods, frequent travel, bending, stooping, and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Repetitive motion includes computer use. Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills are necessary. Attention to detail and legible handwriting are required. Ability to lift, push, or pull 20-50 lbs. may be necessary. Exposure to fumes, chemicals, noise, radiation (in limited areas), blood/body fluids, and infectious diseases may occur.
