Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Medical (Clinical) Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
• Prefer 2 years of lab experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• ASCP Certification or AMT/NCA accepted as licensure.
• Single discipline tech or specialist certification may be considered for Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Molecular Biology, or Microbiology.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential functions of a medical laboratory scientist.
• Oversees quality assurance and QC of analytical activities.
• Collaborates with lab leadership and pathologists to meet physician and patient needs.
• Ensures compliance with accrediting bodies and policies.
• Maintains proficiency testing enrollment and participation.
• Mentors and develops laboratory staff; builds a professional team.
• Manages scheduling and cross-training for efficient staffing.
• Assists in budget development, policies, procedures, and goal setting.
• Provides status reports to laboratory management.
