• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• CAHEA-accredited Medical Technology program or equivalent required.
• ASCP certification preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Develops/implements policies and procedures for the Laboratory Department.
• Maintains/updates standards and procedures per JCAHO and CAP/CAP-affiliated bodies.
• Oversees staffing plans and justifies staffing levels; collaborates with area colleges for recruitment.
• Maintains quality control programs meeting CAP/AABB or applicable accrediting standards.
• Performs delegated functions in compliance with hospital, JCAHO, CAP and departmental policies.
• Coordinates communication with COO and Education Department; maintains minutes and reports.
