Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or closely related field is required.
• Other bachelor's degrees may be accepted if required by certifying agency; bachelor's degree may be waived for ASCP-certified technologists.
• 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in an acute care hospital setting, required.
• Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area; supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of daily operations of the laboratory section and/or area.
• Oversee and efficiently perform procedures and tests as ordered for diagnosis and treatment of disease.
• Ensure maintenance of analyzers, perform quality control, collect specimens, and maintain supplies per standards and policies.
• Provide recommendations and action plans for improvement of system processes in the section/area.
