Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health at Hillcrest Hospital Waco in Texas is seeking a Lab Supervisor to oversee routine core lab activities and ensure timely, quality-standard tests. You will assist with hiring, training, evaluations, and payroll, ensuring smooth daily operations in a dynamic laboratory setting.

The role requires ASCP certification with at least 4 years of core lab lead experience. You will develop policies, manage budgets, and maintain regulatory compliance to support patient care

Qualifications

• ASCP certification or equivalent with at least 4 years of core lab lead experience.
• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
• 4 Years of Experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the work of assigned subordinates in testing phases.
• Prepares schedules, coordinates job assignments, and monitors personnel.
• Assists in selecting, orienting, training, assigning, evaluating, and disciplining staff.
• Assists in the development of policies and procedures related to the laboratory, staffing, and scheduling.
• Monitors the inventory system to ensure supplies are available as needed.
• Assists with implementing quality assurance programs and maintains compliant records.
• Assists with reviewing quality control, proficiency testing, instrument maintenance, and QA records.

Job Summary

The Supervisor of Lab oversees routine lab activities. This ensures adequate staffing and timely, quality-standard tests. Assists with hiring, training, evaluations, and payroll.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Supervises the work of assigned subordinates in testing phases. Performs all delegated functions as defined by the facility CLIA Director.
• Prepares schedules, coordinates job assignments, and monitors personnel. Assists in selecting, orienting, training, assigning, evaluating, disciplining, and discharging employees.
• Assists in the development of policies and procedures related to the laboratory, staffing, and scheduling.
• Communicates and escalates staffing issues or other concerns to management in a timely manner.
• Monitors the inventory system to ensure that necessary supplies are available as needed and in the proper quantity.
• Assists with implementing quality assurance programs and maintains standards and records that document compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Assists with reviewing quality control, proficiency testing, instrument maintenance, and quality assurance records, and any corrective actions.
• Assists with the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets.
