Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, Inc. is seeking a self-directed supervisor to lead laboratory technicians and manage resources to deliver accurate results in a timely manner. The role emphasizes communication and teamwork in a fast-paced plastics environment.

The position requires 5+ years of laboratory experience, a STEM degree, and potential travel to training locations. You'll oversee testing, maintain equipment, and ensure compliance with lean and ISO/AQ standards while driving

Formación

• Associates / Bachelors in STEM or Plastics Processing.
• Minimum 5 years laboratory experience.
• Preferred supervisory experience.

Responsabilidades

• Manage Laboratory resources to meet work demand
• Hiring, training and development of resources
• Resolution of testing nonconformities
• Coordinate Technical Work Requests (Limited at Athens site)
• Ensure that all activities are completed in compliance with lean, ethical, and regulatory requirements, including IATF 16949 / A2LA ISO 17025 / ISO 14001
• Seek continuous improvement through periodic assessments

Job Description:

We are seeking a self-directed and results oriented person to supervise laboratory technicians and manage resources to ensure accurate and impartial output of results in a timely manner. If you have good communication skills, enjoy working with people and plastic, and able to work at times in a fast-paced environment.

Position will require 1 to 2 weeks of travel to Fowlerville, Michigan for training shortly after hire.

Job Tasks

• Manage Laboratory resources to meet work demand
• Hiring, training and development of resources
• Resolution of testing nonconformities

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Licensures, and Certifications)

• Associates / Bachelors in STEM or Plastics Processing
• Minimum 5 years laboratory experience
• Preferred supervisory experience

Required Skills

• Microsoft Office (excel, word, power point, outlook
• ASTM/ISO testing knowledge
• Good laboratory practice habits and maintenance/calibration of equipment
• SAP ERP knowledge preferred but not required

Work Environment / Physical Demands / Travel

• Office environment
• Sits, walks, stands sometimes
• Lifts occasionally
• Ability to travel 10-15% domestically for the first year for training, 10% travel after first year
