Job summary

Labcorp in Raritan, New Jersey seeks a dedicated Specimen Processor to prepare laboratory specimens for analysis, unpack and route them to staging areas, and ensure accurate labeling and data entry.

We value meticulous attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment, and teamwork to meet daily goals. Schedule: Tue–Sat, 10pm–6:30am; Pay: $17.75–$20/hr with shift differential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior specimen processing or medical/laboratory experience preferred.
• Accurate labeling, data entry and documentation are essential.

Responsibilities

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor to join our team at Raritan, NJ.

Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday and alternating Monday, 10pm - 6:30am.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Resolve and document any problem specimens

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 months or more of specimen processing experience
• 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience

• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Pay Range: $17.75-$20/hr. + Shift Differential

All job offers will be based on a candidate?s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
