Job summary

Holcim is seeking a QA/QC Laboratory Technician to perform analyses per the Quality Control Plan, prepare and test AFR samples, and ensure plant compliance with standards. You will calibrate equipment, manage samples, and document all activities in formal records.

The role requires at least 3 years of lab or quality experience and a degree in chemistry or related field. Candidates must adhere to HSE rules and support an on-site lab environment in Arizona.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Accurately and promptly perform all analyses described in the Quality Control Plan, ensuring results comply with internal specifications, quality limits, and relevant standards.
• Receive, prepare, test, and verify the quality of alternative fuels (AFR) to ensure consistency with plant requirements and environmental regulations.
• Maintain the proper operation of AFR laboratory equipment and ensure regular calibration according to standards.
• Manage the receiving, preparing, inspecting, and archiving of internal and external samples, including proper storage, retention, disposal, and record-keeping.
• Conduct well cement laboratory activities to obtain precise test results in compliance with acceptance, production, and API 10A standards.
• Support shift work on demand to ensure continuous laboratory operations.
• Accurately document all laboratory activities and maintain systematic records for tracked samples.
• Identify, investigate, and report any testing deviations from specifications, and promptly inform the QC Manager of non-conformities.
• Account for the verification and calibration of laboratory equipment and methods.
• Monitor and verify the accuracy of quality data, maintain the results database (LIMS), perform statistical analysis, and prepare quality reports.
• Guarantee the precision, confidentiality, and impartiality of analysis results.
• Maintain adequate stocks of laboratory consumables, materials, and chemicals.
• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, promptly reporting any malfunctions to the Laboratory Manager.
• Ensure the overall cleanliness and order of the laboratory at all times.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the QC Manager as required.
• Strictly adhere to company Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) rules to ensure a safe working environment.

Required qualifications:

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or a related technical discipline.
