The University of Miami/UHealth, Katz Center Department is seeking a Full Time Supervisor, Laboratory Services to lead technologists and oversee laboratory operations on the UHealth campus. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 3 years of related experience, with strong leadership, communication, and technical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.
• Strong leadership, training and performance management abilities.
• Technical proficiency with office software and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the test performance of technologists, reviews preliminary test results, monitors finalized reports, initiates deviation investigations, and implements corrective actions.
• Assists technical personnel in resolving test result discrepancies and proficiency testing.
• Manages purchase, requisition, and maintenance of laboratory supplies.
• Oversees orientation, training and competency evaluation for current and new staff.
• Assists with scheduling and management of clinical laboratory personnel.
• Performs tasks related to quality assurance, licensure, or certification activities.
• Interviews, hires, evaluates, counsels, and disciplines subordinate staff.
• Collaborates in educating medical students and allied personnel through studies and committees.
