Laboratory Service Technician

EMPLOYER: Premier Energy Systems

JOB STATUS: Exempt, full-time

BENEFITS: Competitive salary & benefits package including health coverage, PTO, and paid holidays.

BASED: SAINT ALBANS, WV. Travel required to client sites and equipment locations in West Virginia and Ohio.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Laboratory Services Technician is responsible for assembling, installing, operating, and maintaining laboratory products, equipment, and systems for various industries, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, research, food, and energy sectors.

This role involves installing new equipment, servicing existing systems, performing lab techniques, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, SEFA, NFPA, and other standards to promote safety and efficiency.

DUTIES:

  • Coordinate work activities and update the Premier Manager on project status.
  • Assemble, install, and commission laboratory equipment and systems.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair laboratory equipment.
  • Document operations and evaluate system data.
  • Conduct owner training and provide O&M manuals.
  • Handle service calls, coordinate parts and scheduling, and report labor hours and warranty issues.
  • Adhere to industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Maintain professional attendance and safety practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

SKILLS:

  • Self-motivated with multitasking ability.
  • Knowledge of OEM equipment, engineering drawings, testing procedures, and diagnostics.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and detect equipment issues.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office.
  • Electrical, electronic, and mechanical skills preferred.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of industrial technician experience preferred.
  • Higher education or certification in laboratory technology is a plus.
