The Starzl Transplantation Institute at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Laboratory Research Technician III to join our research team.

This position involves coordinating human studies, running flow cytometry on human PBMCs, learning and performing human tissue staining (IHC/IF), RNA and DNA extraction, and helping to manage the lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; two years of lab experience preferred.
• Experience coordinating human studies and performing flow cytometry is desirable.
• Strong documentation and manuscript/grant proposal support skills.

Laboratory Research Technician III

The Starzl Transplantation Institute at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Laboratory Research Technician III to join our research team. Master's degree preferred.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of independent laboratory work and experiments such as determining experimental protocols and preparation of specimens and cultures. Prepares reports of findings subsequent to compilation and analyzation. Oversees specimen inventory. Develops documentation for publication; crafts manuscripts and grant proposals.

Essential Functions

The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating human studies, running flow cytometry on human PBMCs, learning and performing human tissue staining (IHC/IF), RNA and DNA extraction. Will also be responsible for managing the lab.

Physical Effort

Must be able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to see and have use of both hands.
