Job description

ChristianaCare is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Receiving Clerk to work in the Lab Office.

The work hours are Monday - Friday, 11:30 am - 8:00 pm. Every other weekend, and 2-3 holidays per year are required.

In this role, you will perform pre- and post-analytical functions that support the testing of specimens received in the General Laboratory.

Your resume must be attached to your application, and you must have prior lab experience or equivalent science coursework to be considered.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Process, sort, and deliver laboratory specimens and request slips
• Print and properly affix identification labels to all incoming patient specimens
• Prioritize incoming work, ensuring samples for stat testing are delivered to the appropriate laboratory section to maintain turnaround times
• Communicate specimen priority to testing personnel upon delivery

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years of applicable clinical experience working in a lab environment with specimens or equivalent college courses in the healthcare field preferred
