Job summary

SGS is seeking a Project Specialist to provide technical support on laboratory projects, collaborating with internal teams, external vendors, and clients. They will drive continuous improvement by identifying, planning, and implementing process enhancements and will contribute to business growth by communicating SGS's service offerings to prospective clients.

The successful candidate will coordinate with Project Managers, Laboratory Managers, and QA Chemists to develop new laboratory methods,

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in a science-related program (Environmental Science, Chemistry or Geology)
• 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting
• Good knowledge and application of laboratory best practices in management

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to laboratory services projects; consult with employees and customers.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager, Laboratory Managers and QA Chemists to develop new laboratory methods.
• Coordinate, analyze and report strategic laboratory testing programs.
• Work with Laboratory personnel and Business Development Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and deadlines.
• Plan and initiate procedures for continuous improvement of equipment and processes.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with clients and vendors.
• Represent the business to clients, prepare scopes of work, proposals and coordinate project acceptance.
• Verify reports, certificates and invoices to send to customers.
• Communicate SGS capabilities and limitations to clients regularly.
