Millennium Physician Group is seeking a Laboratory Phlebotomist in Warner Robins, GA to perform venipuncture and data entry, ensuring proper sample labeling and specimen preparation for testing.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification or MA certification or certificate from a phlebotomy program.
• 2+ years of experience in Lab.
• Understand labeling/ID protocol, and knowledge of common lab tests, sample types, and vacutainers.
• Understand Biohazard, OSHA safety regulations for medical offices, and Universal precautions.
• Ability to interpret miscellaneous order and guide new phlebotomists.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs painless venipuncture and capillary puncture for the Coumadin clinic.
• Identifies patient following protocol.
• Prepares samples for processing with correct label and bar code and inspects vials.
• Reconciles outstanding sample report at day’s end.
• Observe safety procedures and sample prep.
• Support and guide in day-to-day activities.
• Clean up old orders and combine orders in Copia, know which tests are duplicates and which are necessary for measures.
• Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Verifies the patient's records, enters data into the system, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Processes specimens and demonstrates proper handling of samples. Instructs patients on Coumadin and performs limited waived testing. Maintains sample integrity by identification and labeling (2 identifiers).
