Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, seeks a Laboratory Service Specialist to serve as the primary field liaison between Laboratory Services and ambulatory practices, collection centers, and healthcare providers in the Houston area.

The role focuses on educating staff on lab processes, specimen collection, quality standards, and regulatory compliance, with opportunities for growth and a rewarding, performance-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in laboratory operations, outreach, or ambulatory healthcare operations.
• Solid presentation, communication, and customer service skills.
• Driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary field-based liaison between Laboratory Services and ambulatory practices, collection centers, and providers.
• Educate providers and staff on laboratory processes and specimen collection requirements.
• Promote consistent lab practices and improve specimen integrity.
• Support delivery of safe, high-quality laboratory services across the organization.
