Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee day-to-day inpatient and outpatient laboratory operations at Monmouth Medical Center, Lab Vogel MC. You will lead teams, ensure accurate testing, and drive quality and safety across shifts.

The ideal candidate has a BS/BA in MLS, MLS(ASCP) certification, and hands-on experience with major platforms and LIS systems, plus NJ code compliance. This is a full-time daytime role with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
• MLS(ASCP) certification (or equivalent) required.
• Meets NJ Sanitary Code requirements for General Laboratory Supervisor.
• CAP/CLIA requirements satisfied.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience managing a clinical laboratory team in a large hospital.
• Experience with Cobas Pro, Pure, Sysmex, Clinitek.
• Experience with Vista, GEMS, and/or Cobas Pro.
• Experience with EPIC LIS preferred.
• Experience supporting pathology education for medical students and technologists.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day oversight of inpatient and outpatient laboratory operations.
• Lead clinical laboratory operations, monitor quality and performance.
• Collaborate with laboratory leadership, pathologists, technologists, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and procedures to support quality patient care.
• Supervise staff, conduct interviews, and perform annual performance evaluations.
• Monitor productivity, quality, and turnaround-time metrics for improvement.
