Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Operations Manager to support research laboratories across Discovery sites.

The role leads and coordinates lab operations, serving as a hands-on resource and liaison between scientists, site support teams, and global functions to ensure high-quality service delivery. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of laboratory operational support, a mindset for continuous improvement, and the ability to manage shifting priorities in a multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience with knowledge of research science functions and operating models.
• Knowledge of laboratory, facilities, and work environment needs within a research or drug discovery organization.
• Ability to identify appropriate resources for troubleshooting and operational project support with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Oversee capital asset lifecycle and manage equipment maintenance programs.
• Coordinate chemical stockroom supply and laboratory consumables logistics.
• Coordinate research material shipments and lab modifications; support planned downtime and IT requests.
• Support laboratory furniture needs and liaise with EH&S, Facilities, Lab Computing and other support functions.
• Represent end-user needs in meetings and ensure timely follow‑ups on action items.
