Job summary

Bryan Health seeks a Laboratory Services Director to oversee accuracy and accountability for the laboratory, hire and train staff, and guide policy to ensure the highest quality of specimens and test results.

The role leads regulatory compliance, manages budgets, drives quality improvement, and collaborates with IT, physicians, and other departments to uphold service excellence across all lab facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of science in medical technology or MLS with clinical rotation; ASCP certification or equivalency required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in clinical laboratory functions; 1 year supervisory/managerial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees accuracy and accountability of laboratory staff; ensures quality of specimens and test results.
• Hires, trains and schedules laboratory staff; develops and implements policies for services.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA, CLIA and AABB; coordinates with physicians and IT to resolve issues.
• Leads quality improvement initiatives and data monitoring to improve patient care.
• Manages departmental budget and resources; conducts staff performance appraisals and development.
