Job summary

Certerra is expanding in the Southwest Division and seeks an ACI Laboratory Manager to lead the Phoenix, AZ materials testing lab and drive the accreditation process. The role supports high‑profile construction projects with an emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across soil, asphalt, concrete, and aggregate testing.

The ideal candidate will supervise technicians, ensure adherence to ASTM/AASHTO standards, and coordinate with project managers and accreditation agencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ACI or NICET certifications may be required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee laboratory testing of soil, asphalt, concrete, and aggregate materials.
• Lead and maintain laboratory accreditation programs (AMRL, CCRL, and other agencies).
• Manage proficiency testing and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Supervise and develop Laboratory Technicians, including scheduling, timesheets, performance reviews, and training.
• Direct daily laboratory workflow and coordinate scheduling with Dispatch and Project Managers.
• Maintain laboratory quality systems and documentation.
• Oversee equipment calibration, maintenance, inventory, and purchasing approvals.
• Review laboratory reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development.
