Job summary

BioLabs North Carolina in Durham is seeking a full-time Lab Operations Associate to assist with daily operation of the shared laboratory and office spaces. We are looking for a personable, highly motivated candidate with a basic understanding of a scientific lab environment.

Primary responsibilities include maintaining instruments, assisting procurement, delivering packages, tracking consumables, assisting with EHS compliance, stocking break rooms, and providing general office operational

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in science/engineering; 1–3 years in operations preferred.
• Working knowledge of laboratory practices and instrumentation preferred.
• Biology/chemistry focus preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab-based maintenance on instruments and equipment.
• Assist with resident procurement: orders, receiving, PO closeout.
• Deliver packages to resident companies.
• Track consumables inventory.
• Support EHS compliance.
• Stock break room and cell culture consumables.
• Provide general office operational support (printer, copier, supplies).
• Support other operational functions as needed.

BioLabs North Carolina is focused on providing the most ambitious life science startups in NC with fully functional lab and office space to help accelerate the growth of their businesses. We are seeking a full-time Lab Operations Associate to assist with daily operation of the common laboratory and office spaces. We are looking for a personable and highly-motivated individual with a basic understanding of a scientific laboratory environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory-based maintenance tasks for instruments and equipment to ensure they are working properly, including incubator and BSC decontamination
• Assist with resident company procurement process including submission of resident orders, receiving, and, closing out purchase orders
• Deliver packages to resident companies
• Track and maintain consumables inventory
• Participatein EHS compliance
• Stock break room and cell culture consumables
• Provide general operational support in the office space (printer, copier, supplies, etc.)
• Support other operational functions as needed

Education/Training:

• Associates or bachelor’sdegree in a scientific or engineering field with 1-3 year’s operations experience preferred
• Working knowledge of laboratory practices and instrumentation is preferred
• Biology/chemistry focused education is preferred but not required

Skills:

Outstanding organizational skills and ability to multi-task

• Personable and able to work in a team-based environment
• Willingness to learn new skills and have a strong work ethic
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required
