The IMCI Image and Data Acquisition Core (IDAC) Manager reports tothe IDAC Director and IMCI Director within the University ofIdaho's Institute for Modeling Collaboration and Innovation (IMCI).The position oversees operation, maintenance, service and usertraining for core research equipment, including flow cytometers,microscopes, ddPCR, calorimetry, surface plasmon resonance andpinning robots. The Manager administers user charges, provides coreusage statistics, coordinates vendor support and maintainsproductive relationships with University personnel, equipment usersand vendors. This position will work between 20-30 hours perweek.
Provides functional supervision of day-to-day activities of alaboratory or field research enterprise, including directing theactivities of graduate and undergraduate students, staffresearchers and research support staff. Develops guidelines andprotocols for lab operations. Assures quality control; maintainsbudget; and operates, tests and repairs electronic and/orscientific test equipment used. Assists with the construction andmodification of new and prototype scientific devices.
