Job summary

Highland Hills Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead the Clinical Laboratory services in a full-time, day-shift role with comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plan participation.

The incumbent will direct personnel, ensure high-quality, cost-effective testing, and coordinate with pathologists. Responsibilities include budget formulation, quality improvement, and strong intra-departmental collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Medical Technology, Biology or Chemistry preferred within two years.
• Current Medical Technologist certification.
• Master's degree in public health, hospital administration, or business administration preferred.
• Recent managerial experience in a clinical laboratory of an acute care hospital.
• Experience with regulatory and accreditation of laboratory operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate personnel in Clinical Laboratory services.
• Ensure testing quality, cost containment, and expeditious service delivery.
• Identify results or problems requiring referral to the laboratory pathologist.
• Maintain performance improvement activities and CQI participation.
• Prepare and manage departmental budget and foster physician and intradepartmental relations.

Job description

Highland Hills Medical Center has an opening for a Laboratory Manager. This is a full-time, days, position with benefits that include health, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as participation in the hospital's retirement fund.

Job Summary:

Responsible for direction and coordination of the personnel in Clinical Laboratory services. Activities included are performance of chemical, microscopic, and bacteriological tests performed in the laboratory to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Ensures that services are of the best quality, are cost contained, and are carried out in an expeditious manner. Responsible for recognizing results or problems that require referral to the laboratory pathologist. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Formulates budget. Maintains effective physician and intradepartmental relations.

Regulatory Requirements:

• Associate and/or Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology, Biology or Chemistry preferred within two years of assuming position.
• Current Medical Technologist certification with Nationally recognized certification agency.
• Masters degree in public health, hospital administration, or business administration preferred.
• Recent managerial experience in the clinical laboratory of an acute care hospital.
• Prefer experience with regulatory and accreditation of laboratory operations.
