Job summary

Rise Community Hospital Llc in Oak Grove, LA, seeks an experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee daily operations of a moderate-complexity clinical laboratory, guiding MLS/MLTs and phlebotomists.

You will partner with hospital leadership to assure diagnostic accuracy, quality compliance, and efficient workflows, while mentoring staff and managing budget and LIS integrations.

This role requires a MLS/MT degree, Louisiana CLS Generalist, ASCP or AMT certification, and 2+ years of leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MLS/MT required.
• 2+ years of leadership in a hospital clinical lab.
• Louisiana CLS - GENERALIST and ASCP/AMT certification preferred.
• Solid knowledge of CLIA moderate-complexity guidelines and QA processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily testing across Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Blood Bank.
• Maintain CLIA and Joint Commission readiness; manage QC, QA, proficiency testing.

You will work closely with hospital leadership, clinical staff, and our Medical Director to ensure high standards of diagnostic accuracy, CLIA/Joint Commission compliance, and smooth day-to-day workflow.What You’ll Do Lead Lab Operations: Oversee daily testing across routine disciplines (Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, and Blood Bank). Champion Quality & Compliance: Maintain continuous inspection readiness for CLIA and Joint Commission standards; oversee QC, QA, and proficiency testing programs. Support & Mentor Staff: Recruit, schedule, and empower a talented team of MLS/MLTs and phlebotomists, building a positive, growth-oriented culture. Manage Departmental Resources: Handle inventory, vendor relationships, LIS integrations, and departmental budget planning. Collaborate Across Care Teams: Partner directly with nursing leadership, physicians, and executive management to optimize turnaround times and patient care.What We’re Looking For Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), Medical Technology (MT), or a related physical/biological science. (Master's degree in healthcare administration or related field is a plus!) Certification: Louisiana CLS - GENERALIST; ASCP or AMT certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT) preferred. Experience: 3–5 years of clinical laboratory experience in a hospital environment. 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical lab setting. Solid working knowledge of CLIA moderate-complexity guidelines and lab QA processes.
