Job summary

University Health KC is seeking a Laboratory Clerical/Phlebotomy assistant at UH Lakewood Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. The role combines clerical duties with phlebotomy for outpatients during the first shift.

Work schedule is 7:00AM - 3:30PM (40 hours/week). Requires high school diploma, good communication, and ability to work with patients of all ages.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Verbal communication to answer telephone, greet patients and visitors.
• Written communication to take messages.
• Computer aptitude to use a keyboard and function in a Windows environment.
• Good organizational skills.
• Must have the ability to walk long distances while pushing a cart.
• Must be able to file alphabetically or numerically.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and rotate various shifts, if needed.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Verbal communication skills to answer telephone, greet patients and visitors, and respond to requests for information
• Must have knowledge of the human development process and ability to work effectively with patients of all ages
• Written communication skills to take messages
• Computer aptitude to use a keyboard and function in a Windows environment
• Good organizational skills
• Must have the ability to walk long distances while pushing a cart
• Must have the ability to file alphabetically or numerically
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and rotate various shifts, if needed

Preferred

• Completion of course in medical terminology
• Previous phlebotomy experience
