Job summary

Obsolete Site is seeking an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic to install, repair and maintain HVACR systems for laboratories and experimental setups. The role includes dismantling and reassembling compressors, pumps and valves, and servicing large heat exchangers with diverse components.

You must be able to operate HVAC systems controlled by computer-based technologies and adhere to DoD and federal requirements. A background check and health fitness evaluations are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Ability to do the work of Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic without more than normal supervision.
• Test, modify, and/or repair air conditioning units to specification requirements.
• Repair and/or reassemble units such as compressors and pumps to operational capacity.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain HVACR systems which frequently must be modified to meet specific and critical conditions in laboratories and other experimental and test activities.
• Dismantle, repair and reassemble units such as compressors, pumps, valves, fans and bearings.
• Install, repair, and maintain large, complex, high and low pressure heat exchangers having a great variety of complicated components, parts, and auxiliary equipment.
• Systems maintained include components such as baffles, breechings, superheaters, preheaters, economizers, and feed water regulators.
• Operate and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems controlled by computer-based systems such as direct digital, microprocessor, electropneumatic, electronic and automated logic systems.
