Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead the hospital-based laboratory team, oversee performance, and drive quality improvement in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree, 3+ years of supervisory experience in a clinical lab, and Florida licensure (or eligibility). Licensure in hematology, histology, and microbiology is required or beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Florida Supervisor’s license or ability to obtain during interview.
• Licensure in hematology, histology, and microbiology (5 areas beneficial).

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor employees, departmental performance and staff development to ensure adherence to policies and procedures, timelines and regulatory requirements.
• Develop monitoring systems for collection, documentation and reporting of quality assessment and improvement data; extract pertinent information and initiate corrective action plans.
• Evaluate existing systems and processes and develop corrective action plans for service/quality trends identified; initiate changes and monitor for improvement.
• Respond to customer feedback (internal and external) and implement improvement mechanisms to enhance lab services.

Shift time: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional weekends and late shifts as needed.

In this role, you will:

Lead and monitor employees, departmental performance and staff development to ensure adherence to policies and procedures, timelines and regulatory requirements

Develop monitoring systems for the collection, documentation and reporting of quality assessment and improvement data; extracts pertinent information from quality assessment and improvement studies, initiates corrective action plans, and re-monitors results

Evaluate existing systems and processes and develops corrective action plans for service/quality trends identified Initiates changes and monitors for improvement

Ensure departments proactively respond to feedback from customers (internal and external) and implements improvement mechanisms to enhance the overall ability of the department to meet the customer’s needs for laboratory services

You should have:

A Bachelor’s Degree

3+ years’ experience at a supervisory level in a clinical laboratory setting

A Florida Supervisor’s license or the ability to obtain during interview process

Minimum 3 licensures in following specialty areas, licensure in 5 areas is beneficial:

Hematology

Histology

Microbiology
