HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is seeking a Hospital Laboratory Manager to lead the laboratory team, ensuring quality, compliance and patient-centric service. The role emphasizes staff development, process improvement, and regulatory adherence to deliver accurate results and timely reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree and has 3+ years of supervisory experience in a clinical lab; Florida Supervisor license or ability to obtain during interview.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3+ years’ supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Florida Supervisor’s license or ability to obtain during interview.
• Minimum 3 licensures in following specialty areas, licensure in 5 areas is beneficial: Blood Bank/Immunohematology, Chemistry, Hematology, Histology, Microbiology, Serology/Immunology.

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor employees, departmental performance and staff development to ensure adherence to policies and procedures, timelines and regulatory requirements.
• Develop monitoring systems for quality assessment data; extract information, initiate corrective actions and re-monitor results.
• Evaluate existing systems and processes and develop corrective action plans for service/quality trends identified, initiating changes and monitoring improvements.
• Ensure departments proactively respond to customer feedback (internal and external) and implement improvement mechanisms for quality laboratory services.

Job Summary and Qualifications

In this role, you will:

Lead and monitor employees, departmental performance and staff development to ensure adherence to policies and procedures, timelines and regulatory requirements

Develop monitoring systems for the collection, documentation and reporting of quality assessment and improvement data; extracts pertinent information from quality assessment and improvement studies, initiates corrective action plans, and re-monitors results

Evaluate existing systems and processes and develops corrective action plans for service/quality trends identified Initiates changes and monitors for improvement

Ensure departments proactively respond to feedback from customers (internal and external) and implements improvement mechanisms to enhance the overall ability of the department to meet the customer’s needs for laboratory services

You should have:

A Bachelor’s Degree

3+ years’ experience at a supervisory level in a clinical laboratory setting

A Florida Supervisor’s license or the ability to obtain during interview process

Minimum 3 licensures in following specialty areas, licensure in 5 areas is beneficial:

Blood Bank/Immunohematology

Chemistry

Hematology

Histology

Microbiology

Serology/Immunology
