Job summary

SGS is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor in the United States to lead the analytical chemistry lab, drive performance improvements, and manage daily production with a focus on safety and quality. The role emphasizes training, resource allocation, and KPI monitoring to meet department objectives.

Applicants should have a science degree with supervisory experience, or an applicable chemistry degree with substantial lab leadership exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Science, with emphasis in chemistry or other related field.
• Must have 3-5 years in a management and/or supervisory role.
• OR Associate's Degree in Chemistry or similar scientific discipline and minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories (sample analysis).

Responsibilities

• Manage growth pathways for department personnel through goals and evaluations.
• Identify resources for the department and ensure training completion.
• Oversee daily production and ensure quality management system compliance.
• Promote a safe working environment and adherence to health & safety procedures.
• Lead investigations and root cause analysis for incidents and non-conformities.
• Coordinate with teams to manage daily workflow and achieve targets.
