Job summary

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a Laboratory General Supervisor for the Wake Forest, NC area. The role centers on delivering accurate, timely diagnostic results using high-complexity real-time PCR and other lab procedures to support patient care.

Responsibilities include supervising daily test performance, maintaining quality controls, and ensuring CLIA/OSHA/HIPAA compliance. A CLIA-compliant lab science degree or certification and molecular testing experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience, including molecular or PCR-based testing.
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science that is compliant with CLIA standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CLIA high-complexity, real-time PCR testing in accordance with protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Collect, prepare, process, and analyze patient specimens.
  • Document laboratory results in the EMR.
  • Perform quality control procedures, calibration, and routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards.
  • Monitor laboratory inventory, reagents, and expiration dates.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report testing discrepancies or equipment issues.
  • Provide supervision for day-to-day test performance.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Laboratory General Supervisorto join our clinical team in the Wake Forest, NCarea. This role plays a vital part in deliveringaccurate,timelydiagnostic results through high-complexity real-time PCR testing and other laboratory procedures that directlyimpactpatient care.

The Laboratory General Supervisoris responsible forall testing duties, quality standards, and MainStreet Family Care values. This position supports providers and lab techs by producing reliable laboratory results that enable efficient diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CLIA high-complexity, real-time PCR testingin accordance withestablished protocols and regulatory requirements
  • Collect, prepare, process, and analyze patient specimens
  • Accurately document laboratory results in the electronic medical record
  • Perform quality control procedures, calibration, and routine maintenance on laboratory equipment
  • Ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards
  • Prepare and manage specimens for internal and external testing as needed
  • Monitor laboratory inventory, reagents, andexpirationdates
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report testing discrepancies, equipment issues, or quality concerns
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
  • Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to support efficient operations
  • Providing supervision for day-to-day test performance

Minimum Qualifications
  • Medical laboratory certification, or aBachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science that is compliant with CLIA standards.
  • Two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience, including molecular or PCR-based testing
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of clinical laboratory experience
  • Experience performing high-complexity real-time PCR testing in a regulated laboratory environment
  • Experience in urgent care, primary care, or high-volume clinical settings
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Proficiencyin real-time PCR and molecular diagnostic techniques
  • Knowledge of high-complexity laboratory testing standards and CLIA requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot testing and equipment issues
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Schedule
  • Approximately 30-40hoursper week
  • 10-hour shifts, scheduled across 7 days per week
  • Rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Schedule may vary based on operational and testing volume needs
