Howard County Medical Center invites applications for the position of Laboratory Director at its St. Paul, Nebraska location.

The Laboratory Director directs the budgetary, purchasing, staffing and related aspects of laboratory work, and is responsible for directing the technical activities of assigned clinical laboratory areas in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Howard County Medical Center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology
• Registered Medical Technologist credential or equivalent certification
• Three to five years' general laboratory experience
• One to three years of supervisory experience
• Must be available to take a call and respond within 30 minutes

Responsibilities

• Directs daily department operations, workflow, policies, procedures, goals, and coordination with other departments.
• Monitors service and quality levels, resolves operational issues, and implements improvements as needed.
• Leads employee relations efforts that support communication, recognition, retention, and a positive work environment.
• Recruits, orients, trains, and develops qualified department staff and maintains job descriptions and licenses.
• Directs departmental financial operations, including budgets, expenses, variances, and reporting.
