Job summary

Jefferson Memorial Hospital is seeking a Director of the Laboratory to oversee the clinical laboratory, quality control and regulatory programs. You will plan, organize, direct and evaluate the lab, including hiring, staff development and payroll, with responsibility for off-site and on-site functions.

The role requires leadership experience, a CLIA High Complexity background and strong regulatory knowledge, with a focus on quality assurance and collaboration with hospital leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology or Physical Science required for High Complexity testing under CLIA.
• Master’s degree preferred for leadership roles.
• 3–5 years of leadership experience in a closely related field required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administrative, fiscal, and technical activities to ensure efficient lab operation and regulatory compliance.
• Direct staffing, payroll, evaluations, and staff development to meet department goals.
• Ensure CAP, AABB, Joint Commission, CLIA compliance and quality assurance across the laboratory.
