Job summary

Mat-Su Regional Medical Center seeks a Director of Laboratory to oversee the clinical laboratory's administrative, fiscal, and technical operations in Palmer, AK. You will lead quality, staffing, and compliance programs across CAP, AABB, JCAHO, CLIA standards, coordinating with hospital leadership to meet performance goals.

The role requires directing payroll, hiring, staff development, and ensuring regulatory compliance while maintaining laboratory productivity in a full-time, days schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or Physical Science required for High Complexity CLIA.
• Master's degree preferred for advanced roles.
• MLS - Medical Lab Scientist certification or equivalent may be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administrative, fiscal and technical activities of the clinical laboratory.
• Ensure quality control, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
• Hire, develop and evaluate laboratory staff and payroll.
• Maintain regulatory accreditation (CAP, AABB, JCAHO, CLIA).
• Manage department budgeting, scheduling and resource allocation.
