Job summary

SRMC is seeking a Director of Laboratory to oversee administrative, fiscal, and technical operations of the clinical laboratory in Palmer, AK. The role leads quality control, QA, and point-of-care testing programs, coordinating with hospital departments and managing personnel, hiring, discipline, and payroll.

Responsibilities include staff evaluations, financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement aligned with CAP, AABB, JCAHO, and CLIA standards to ensure accurate,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or Physical Science meeting High Complexity CLIA requirements.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in a closely related field with Bachelor's degree required.
• 3-5 years of previous leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes employee evaluations in a timely manner and assesses staff competencies on an ongoing basis.
• Demonstrates fiscal accountability for department resources and outcomes within budget.
• Ensures regulatory compliance with CAP, AABB, Joint Commission, CLIA and related agencies.
