Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation is seeking a Laboratory Director to provide executive leadership for hospital and clinical laboratory operations, ensuring 24/7 coverage and alignment with CAP quality standards.

The role requires 3–5+ years of supervisory experience, a Bachelor's degree, and ASCP licensure. A Master’s in Healthcare Administration or MBA is preferred for strategic management and budgeting responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• 3–5+ years of laboratory supervisory experience with demonstrated abilities to direct team activities and basic business applications.
• ASCP licensure is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, submit and manage budget for assigned departments.
• Supervise staff and ensure compliance with all policies; ensure adequate staffing; oversee scheduling and daily operations.
• Monitor patient satisfaction and implement plans for improvement.
• Implement and assess a comprehensive quality assurance program to meet CAP, safety and infection control guidelines.
• Develop and maintain operational plans for laboratory instruments and management of departmental documentation to meet CAP requirements.
• Plans, implements and markets services meeting internal and external customer needs with measurable goals to enhance services.
• Provide leadership to align with Baptist vision/values and communicate policies and goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
