Cleveland Clinic in Ohio is seeking a Laboratory Courier to support the lab''s rapid test result delivery. This PRN role requires safe driving, meticulous handling of specimens, and punctual pickups and deliveries.

You'll perform routine vehicle maintenance, scan barcodes, obtain signatures, and submit daily route and maintenance reports. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, valid license, and the ability to work independently in all weather.

As a Laboratory Courier, you will perform daily, preventive maintenance of assigned vehicles and perform scheduled deliveries and pickups at all perimeter locations according to your established route and schedule. This position is here to assist the lab and move specimens as quickly as possible to provide patients with their test results.
A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) variable shifts.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Perform pickup and delivery of laboratory specimens to designated areas.
• Use appropriate handling, storage and transportation methods.
• Perform daily, preventive maintenance of an assigned vehicle.
• Verify that delivery has been completed properly.
• Ensure that all items are picked up and delivered, barcodes are scanned, and signatures are obtained.
• Submit daily route sheets, accident reports, maintenance records and mileage reports.
• Check all fluid levels daily and perform basic safety checks of mechanical operations.
• Report any malfunctions and problems to the section leader for correction.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid state driver's license (VDL) and a good driving record
• Obtain and maintain eligibility as determined by Cleveland Clinic's insurance carrier's requirements to operate foundation vehicles
• Can work independently and organize and prioritize deliveries and pickups

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• One year of experience as a courier
• No points on the driver's license
• Experienced driver
• Comfortable using a smart phone

Physical Requirements:

• Typical physical demands include full body motion including ability to lift and transport medium weight materials up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to spend long hours driving and working in all weather conditions.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $17.50
Maximum hourly: $17.50
