Healthcare Staffing Professionals is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support laboratory testing staff in Downey, CA. The role involves pre-analytical procedures, specimen collection, transport, accessioning, equipment maintenance, and general lab duties.

Qualifications

• Six months' experience in laboratory work in a public health, medical or biological laboratory (required) or completion of a laboratory science course such as general chemistry or bacteriology.

Responsibilities

• Assist laboratory testing staff with pre-analytical procedures.
• Transport and accession environmental specimens; operate and maintain equipment.
• Perform and document maintenance checks; monitor and log specimens and chain of custody.
• Order supplies and report equipment issues.
• Follow written procedures and safety rules.
