• Dates and time stamps all request slips and assigns laboratory numbers.
• Enter specimen data into accession book with specimen numbers.
• Perform basic lab work such as staining slides and preparing specimens for testing.
• File and retrieve laboratory reports; report findings to physicians as needed.
• Maintain work area by disinfecting benches and equipment; order supplies.
