Bastyr University in Kenmore, WA is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support classroom and research laboratories. The role focuses on day-to-day prep, organization, and safety under laboratory leadership.

Responsibilities include preparing reagents and materials for instructional sessions, assisting with setup and breakdown of lab environments, monitoring supply levels, supporting routine research activities, and helping create and maintain centralized SOPs including inventory and procurement

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or related field or commensurate lab experience.
Working knowledge of laboratory procedures, safety practices, and OSHA standards.
Experience in academic, clinical, or research labs preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare basic reagents, solutions, and materials for instructional and clinical laboratory sessions.
Assist with routine setup and breakdown of classroom and research lab environments.
Monitor and report supply levels to ensure adequate stock for scheduled activities.
Support routine research laboratory activities and general upkeep as directed by leadership.
Assist with creating and maintaining centralized SOPs for each lab including general supply list, inventory management, procurement directions and scheduling, set-up/close-down procedures.
