Job summary

ARL Bio Pharma in Oklahoma City is seeking a Microbiology Lab Assistant to support daily laboratory tasks under supervision, contributing to safe and accurate testing for pharmaceutical clients.

You will perform media preparation, glassware cleaning, inventory management, lab cleaning, and sanitization while following SOPs and safety protocols in a fast-paced environment; this is a full-time role with a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 2+ years' laboratory experience.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related science.
• Strong communication proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare media for experiments and testing.
• Clean and sterilize glassware.
• Manage inventory and place orders for lab supplies.
• Clean and sanitize the lab workspace daily.
• Autoclave reagents and supplies as required.
• Assist staff to maintain high quality and SOP compliance.
• Wear and effectively use PPE, including eye protection and lab coat.

Work Schedule

Day Shift - ~9AM to 5PM

Work Restrictions

Because of vital nature of this work, we do not allow medical marijuana cards and we do random drug testing on all of our employees.

Essential Functions

• Media preparation
• Glassware cleaning
• Inventory / ordering
• Lab cleaning and sanitization
• Autoclaving various reagents and supplies
• Assist laboratory personnel in daily activities to maintain high scientific quality and compliance with SOPs, protocols, and safety standards
• Ability to wear, maintain, and properly use appropriate safety equipment, including, but not limited to eye protection, gloves, full face respirator, and lab coat.

Position Requirements

• High School diploma with 2+ years working experience OR...
• Associate degree in Microbiology or related science field OR...
• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or related science field
• A minimum of an associate degree in Microbiology or related science field is preferred
• Communication Proficiency.

Work Environment

This job operates in a laboratory environment.

Physical Demands

The role requires standing for prolonged periods of time; dexterity in fingers and hands to perform complex and precise manipulations; ability to walk and stoop; ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds; see in the normal visual range including the ability to distinguish colors and shades and hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
