Job summary

ARL Bio Pharma in Oklahoma City seeks a Microbiology Lab Assistant to support routine lab operations. You will assist with media prep, glassware cleaning, inventory, and lab sanitization in a safety-focused environment. No prior experience required; training is provided.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or higher in a microbiology-related field and good communication skills to work with a team in a fast-paced lab setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 2+ years working experience, or Associate/Bachelor in Microbiology or related field.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Under the supervision of the laboratory supervisor the Microbiology Lab Assistant provides support tasks in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

Work Schedule:

Day Shift - ~9AM to 5PM

Work Restrictions:

Because of vital nature of this work, we do not allow medical marijuana cards and we do random drug testing on all of our employees.

Essential Functions...

• Media preparation
• Glassware cleaning
• Inventory / ordering
• Lab cleaning and sanitization
• Autoclaving various reagents and supplies
• Assist laboratory personnel in daily activities to maintain high scientific quality and compliance with SOPs, protocols, and safety standards
• Ability to wear, maintain, and properly use appropriate safety equipment, including, but not limited to eye protection, gloves, full face respirator, and lab coat.

Position Requirements...

• High School diploma with 2+ years working experience OR...
• Associate degree in Microbiology or related science field OR...
• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or related science field
• A minimum of an associate degree in Microbiology or related science field is preferred
• Communication Proficiency.

Physical Demands...

The role requires standing for prolonged periods of time; dexterity in fingers and hands to perform complex and precise manipulations; ability to walk and stoop; ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds; see in the normal visual range including the ability to distinguish colors and shades and hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
