Knox Community Hospital Laboratory is seeking a Laboratory Assistant for the day shift. The role collects and processes specimens for testing, registers patient orders, and performs therapeutic phlebotomy with attention to billing details.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, phlebotomy training or 1+ year venipuncture experience, and CPR certification within 4 months of hire. Office duties and potential Point of Care testing are also part of the job.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate from an approved Phlebotomy School/Program, or 1+ years’ experience performing venipunctures in a hospital setting
• Experience in phlebotomy preferred.
• CPR certification required within 4 months of employment and must be current at all times thereafter

The Laboratory Assistant reports to the Laboratory Director. Collects, accessions, requisitions and processes specimens for testing. Makes certain that orders are complete and authorized and contain patient information needed for billing purposes. Registers patient orders. Performs therapeutic phlebotomies. Performs general office/clerical responsibilities and phlebotomy. Maintain inventory supply. Option to perform Point of Care tests
