Job summary

JumpStart Games, Inc. seeks a laboratory assistant to perform phlebotomy across all ages, ensuring specimens are collected correctly, labeling is precise, and patient identification is verified before processing in the LIS.

You will maintain specimen integrity from collection to entry, and provide patient instruction as needed. The position requires a high school diploma and at least one year of phlebotomy experience; basic medical terminology knowledge and data-entry skills are preferred.

• Maintains a well-stocked, clean, and orderly work environment.
• Adheres to all safety standards in the handling of biohazardous specimens and contaminated phlebotomy equipment.

Summary/Objective:

A laboratory assistant performing phlebotomy verifies patient identification, draws blood from patients of all ages maintaining specimen integrity, labels the drawn blood for processing, and enters correct patient information into the LIS.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma required.

Preferred Education and Experience

A minimum of one year experience as a phlebotomist to include phlebotomy performed on all ages and ability to adapt to multiple computer systems.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of medical terminology and data entry skills. Knowledge of specimen collection, specimen requirements, specimen integrity and specimen handling.
