Laboratory Assistant II/ Phlebotomist - Part-time

Position: Lab Assistant II

Schedule: Varied hours including 8-hour or 10-hour shifts, with availability on weekends. Shifts include:

• 1st shift: 4:00 am - 12:30 pm
• 2nd shift: 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm & 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm
• 3rd shift: 9:00 pm - 5:30 am & 10:00 pm - 6:30 am

Location: Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, St. Petersburg, Florida

Responsibilities:

• Specimen receiving, processing, and handling duties.
• Patient registration and entering orders into the system.
• Operating laboratory equipment and maintaining supplies.
• Performing specimen centrifugation, labeling, and storage.
• Supporting quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
• Assisting with phlebotomy as needed (must have competency on file).

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of laboratory or patient care experience; student in related science fields may substitute up to two years.
• Preferred: 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
