Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant II - Per Diem to perform routine and complex microbiology assays at Highland Park Hospital. The role supports accurate results through maintenance and calibration of multiplex instrumentation and requires strong communication and organizational skills.

Education includes a HS Diploma with preferred Associate’s degree in biological science meeting CLIA guidelines for moderate to high complexity testing.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; associate degree preferred for CLIA moderate to high complexity testing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under supervision.
• Good communication and organizational abilities for lab duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex assays in Microbiology under supervision.
• Maintain and calibrate multiplex instrumentation to ensure accurate results.
• Routinely resolve technical and interdepartmental problems affecting tests.
• Identify issues affecting performance and report to supervisors as needed.
• Work cooperatively with team; communicate clearly and stay organized.

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.31 - $28.00 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate’s expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Laboratory Assistant II - Per Diem
• Location: Highland Park Hospital
• Full Time/Part Time: Per Diem
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3pm, e/o weekend and rotating holidays

What you will do:

• Under the general supervision of a medical technologist/manager/director, performs a variety of routine and complex assays in Microbiology.
• Ensures the accuracy and precision of diagnostic results through performance of maintenance and calibration of multiplex instrumentation systems.
• Routinely resolves technical and interdepartmental problems related to the various laboratory areas.
• Readily identify problems that may adversely affect performance or reporting of results and taking corrective action or notifying supervising personnel when appropriate.
• Demonstrates ability to work cooperatively with others. Good communication and organizational skills.

What you will need:

• Education: HS Diploma required. Associate’s degree in biological science or the requisite courses to meet CLIA requirements for moderate to high complexity testing preferred.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Able to solve technical and interdepartmental problems related to the various Laboratory areas with assistance and under supervision. Capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of results and taking corrective action. Good communication and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others.
