Job summary

Endeavor Health in Evanston, IL is seeking a Laboratory Assistant II for per diem shifts (Mon-Fri 8:00 am–4:30 pm, rotating weekends/holidays). Triage, accession, and process non-gynecologic, gynecologic, and FNA specimens as part of the lab team.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of laboratory experience, a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and strong customer service. We offer premium pay, tuition reimbursement, PTO, and comprehensive health benefits.

Responsibilities

• Triage, accession, and process non-gynecologic, gynecologic, and FNA specimens.
• Assist quality control to ensure instruments and reagents meet standards.
• Answer phone inquiries and provide results data as required.
• Maintain a safe environment using protective devices.
• Participate in inventory and ordering management.
• Promote patient satisfaction and courteous service to staff and patients.
• Mentor and support new lab staff.
• Ensure quality/compliance via laboratory logs.

Hourly Pay Range:$19.31 - $28.00 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.Position Highlights:Position: Laboratory Assistant II - Per DiemLocation: Evanston HospitalFull Time/Part Time: Per DiemHours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm, rotating weekends and holidaysWhat you will do:Triage, accession, and process non-gynecologic, gynecologic, and FNA specimenAssist with quality control processes and procedures to assure that instruments and reagents meet the required standard of performancePerforms related clerical and service tasks such as answering phone inquiries from nursing staff and physicians and gives results data as required.Maintains a safe work environment by using required protective devices. Handles biohazardous materials and chemicals according to established protocol.Participate in inventory and ordering management.Actively promotes patient satisfaction and customer service values with all staff members. Treats patients with respect and care. Instructs and encourages coworkers to treat patients and hospital staff courteously.
