MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, MA is seeking a Laboratory Assistant II to perform routine technical and clerical tasks, including phlebotomy, specimen receipt, and distribution of laboratory specimens.

This role supports microbiology workflows, uses a LIS, and offers a comprehensive benefits package and sign-on bonus up to $5,000 based on eligibility.

Formación

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1 year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program.
• Certifications: Phlebotomy certification where State law requires.
• Preferred: Completion of a phlebotomy program.

Job Summary

Up to $5,000 Sign-on Bonus Based on Eligibility

The Laboratory Assistant II performs routine technical and clerical functions. Performs venipuncture, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens; will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens.
• Will perform waived testing, and assist in microbiology processing and plating specimens, as requested.
• Performs phlebotomy duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 1 year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program
  • Certifications: Phlebotomy certification where State law requires
• Preferred:
  • Education: Completion of a phlebotomy program
  • Experience: In addition to above, basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience
  • Certifications: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar
