St. Luke's Health System is seeking an Laboratory Assistant 1 to support multiple service areas including phlebotomy, specimen processing, client services, and histology.

The role emphasizes accuracy, patient-centered care, and collaboration within a fast-paced laboratory setting. The ideal candidate has phlebotomy training or relevant experience, familiarity with LIS and EHR systems, and a commitment to safety and quality in a hospital environment.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of accredited phlebotomy training or relevant experience preferred.
• National certification (ASCP, NHA, NCCT) preferred.
• 1 year of clinical/hospital lab experience helpful.
• Familiarity with EHR and LIS systems.

Mansioni

• Perform venipuncture and capillary collection with safety and quality adherence.
• Accurately identify patients and label specimens to ensure traceability.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care during collection.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of phlebotomy workstations and equipment.
• Process, verify, and document specimens per lab protocols.
• Enter data into LIS and coordinate with clinical teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Support histology by quality control, handling tissue specimens, and ensuring proper documentation.
