The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Winter Garden

· AdventHealth Winter Garden is a state-of-the-art hospital with 80 beds, offering a wide range of healthcare services, including emergency care, surgical services, lab work, primary and specialty care, imaging, spine health, women’s and men’s care, pediatric services, and more—all in one location.

· The hospital is undergoing expansion to add three additional floors to the patient tower and more women’s services, expected to be completed in 2026.

· The expansion will include 40 new progressive care unit beds, obstetrics and gynecology services, a dedicated labor and delivery floor with nine beds, postpartum beds, C-section operating rooms, and space for a future NICU.

· Additional space for more operating rooms and beds will also be added.

The role you’ll contribute:

The Laboratory Assistant I performs laboratory support procedures including phlebotomy and specimen processing in clinical and anatomical pathology areas. The role requires meeting ongoing education and department-specific requirements, with practical knowledge of laboratory procedures.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Collect patient, physician, and test order information, verify identification, insurance, and test requirements.
• Perform blood specimen collection, including phlebotomy and skin puncture for all ages.
• Maintain and check laboratory equipment.
• Receive and process specimens, including centrifugation and transportation as needed.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification if required by the facility
