Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant I to join the Cytology Laboratory at Evanston Hospital. The role involves triaging and processing cytology specimens, performing staining techniques, and serving as a technical liaison for inquiries. The position is full-time with standard hours, and you will work Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm.

Education required is a college degree in science, with lab experience preferred. The department emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and high-quality patient care.

Hourly Pay Range: $18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

What you will do

• Triage cytology specimen: gross specimen and accession specimen
• Process gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimen using various processing and staining techniques
• Provide customer support as a technical liaison for the cytology laboratory for inquiries
• Support specimen send outs by completing patient sample requests
• Maintain a clean laboratory station and work alongside team to manage the inventory, logs, equipment functions, and troubleshoot issues in the laboratory with the supervisor
